I'm sure you've figured out from my lull in blogging that things have gotten busier around here. School is in swing now, started week 2, and the girls seem to have lots of homework. Definitely more than in NY. They both like their teachers and Ramona was just laughing her head off yesterday telling us how her teacher had overheard some "I love yous" in class and told the class to save the drama for their mamas. And Sasha told us that yes, in fact, 2nd grade is when kids start falling in love!!
Also, I just wanted to mention again that we'd love to have visitors anytime. We finally have plenty of space, even a guest room with a separate full bath on the main floor. Well, right now it's just the office, but as soon as we have a visitor on the way I'll make sure we get a bed in there. Several people have mentioned that they'd like to come in the winter and enjoy the awesome weather here. Please just let us know once you've decided when you'd like to come, so you can "book" the guest room. I only say this because usually people like to travel on holiday weekends and there are only so many of those, plus we have a few trips of our own in the works. So here's some more specifics, just to help you plan.
-We're about 1/2 hour or so from the Phoenix airport, so we'd be more than happy to provide transportation to and fro.
-While there isn't much to do down where we are there's tons in Phoenix and we're up there all the time, so there's plenty of sightseeing near us.
-Looks like basically Oct-March the weather is pretty great. We have a community pool just a couple of blocks down that I believe is open and heated year round.
-Or if you want to venture to other spots while you're here I think we're about 2 hours to Tucson, 3 hours to Flagstaff, and 5-6 hours to San Diego, Las Vegas, or the Grand Canyon.
The point is we'd love to see some of our friends and family and show them our abode in the desert!

melanie,
i'm catching up on your blog and i've missed so much! first of all, we miss you tons. parker has mentioned ramona and sasha several times. emma, bailey, hannah, and parker are the oldest kids now. it's so weird! and tons of babies and two-year olds. tons.
i will always remember how helpful you were when we first moved to ithaca. i think of that a lot as i answer the newbies questions this year. i keep thinking, "i'm their melanie!" but, you know, not really.
and you got a dog! ramona must be SO happy about that! that's so exciting. and he's super cute too. is it like having another kid?
school starts here next week. parker has mrs. hanson. did ramona or sasha have her? she seems really nice and parker is anxious to get started.
and if we are ever in arizona, we will definitely visit. my brother's in glendale, so a visit is not totally out of question. we're bound to get there sometime.
i love that you have a big house and you're able to do with it what you want. you must love it...
sorry for the long comment. i just had a lot of catching up to do . . .
