Sasha turned 6 yesterday and I must say I got away with the easiest birthday party ever. But the best part of all was that Sasha completely planned it and was as happy as could be with her little celebration. To put it very mildly, Sasha is a control freak, she knows EXACTLY how she wants things and makes sure that is the way it happens. (I'll refrain from expounding on this.) So her party consisted of playing pass the present. I'm sure there's an actual name for this game, but I don't know what it is. My kids LOVE it though and it's the easiest game ever for most any aged kids. You just get a little gift, mine was 3 tiny bags of Skittles, and wrap it in a ton of layers. When the kids are playing you turn on some music and pass the present around. Every time the music stops the person holding the present gets to take off a layer of wrapping paper. Then the child to unwrap the last layer gets to keep the gift, but I learned from the last party that doesn't work out so well so you can just put enough goodies in for everyone and save the drama.
So anyways, back to the party agenda. Here it is short and sweet-
-pass the present game
-pause to eat the skittles
-a rousing game of hide and seek
-a few rounds of duck duck goose
-open presents
-eat cake
-the end and we had 3 really happy little kids
doesn't get much better than that!
Thanks for all the cards and birthday wishes.

Also, today we bought our first can of paint to begin removing the glaring whiteness from our place. Ramona's room is first, primarily because she's been whining the most about it, even more than me. She picked out the color and here it is.
Hopefully we'll get to work on it very soon and hope she likes it!

Glad the day was enjoyed by all. Sounds like a fun, low-key party. Way to go. Hope Sasha has a great sixth year of life!
